Hi, I am a 6th cousin of Elmer Ellworth’s…I was there at the reenactment Sunday. My husband & I live in the Chicago suburbs, and drove over. I had spoken to Ray LeMay by phone, who said that we Elmer cousins would have our photos taken in front of the his memorial stone after the event. Obviously, I knew that would not happen because of the rain, and so be it. I accept that all was not perfect because of the rain. But I did connect with about 4 of my Ellsworth cousins, and you caught a picture of one who was reenacting as a Zouave. So thank you for all your photos, as they are so valuable to us here. I never had been to New York before, and did not know my cousins up there at all…Ray said I was the 13th cousin to call him, and at the museum afterward, I found another one…I had my genealogy with me, which definately proves with NO doubt that I am a cousin. And the cousin I spoke to at the museum and I went over all my charts together right there…We found her people in them…so we were able to verify who she was. I actually have Ellsworth charts that date back to the yr. 1506. I do not seek attention for being a cousin of Elmer’s. But I think it would be good to have us cousins (who are willing to share) called to the front, and we could have connected more easily, and then perhaps we could have had our photos taken with some of the people and groups. I will email Ray my thoughts…I looked for him but did not find him. I just wanted to let you know how very very valuable your photos are…Our digital camera started to beep in the middle of the event. So I never got a shot of the flowers at the grave, etc. My connection to Elmer goes back to the 1600’s, when Elmer’s ancestor and mine (brothers) got off the boat from England to this country. Anyway, I am willing to share with anyone who wants to email me. Thanks again. Patty Tinsley
